Alternative energy is an umbrella term that refers to any type of usable energy derived from sources that do not use up natural resources or harm the environment. Alternative Energy more or less falls into three categories:
Business owners are increasingly investing in renewable energy technologies in order to supplement the rising costs of fuel and electricity. The rising popularity of alternative energy technologies has attracted venture capital funding, legislative incentives and support, and growing investment from the small business sector. Alternative energy stocks, ETF’s, & even Specialized Funds are becoming one of the largest investment growth areas for the future. A sector which we believe has huge growth potential for the investor and benefits for the environment as a whole. While the risk remain high, due to the unpredictability of the technology & practically of the end user, the industry must be viewed as long term, but equally important investment to undertake.
Areas that are not considered Alternative would be the traditional Oil, Coal, & Atomic sectors.
